SSI Classified Diving Instructor
The SSI Classified Diving Instructor program provides candidates with the knowledge and training necessary to organize and conduct entry-level scuba training programs for Classified Diving students and Classified Dive Buddies.

Course overview
As an SSI Classified Diving Instructor your objective is to teach the knowledge and skills from the Open Water Diver program to Classified Diving individuals, based on their personal abilities, utilising adaptive training techniques. You will learn how to modify the safe diving practices and requirements of the Open Water Diver program - while still meeting the SSI Training Standards - to accommodate each participant and remove obstacles that prevent them from earning a certification.
To complete the Classified Diving Instructor Program, candidates must:
Complete and pass all requirements and evaluations listed in the instructor manual for the Classified Diving program.
Complete practical application: Dry Land Session
Complete practical applications: Levels 1-3 Skills
Demonstrate the ability to organize, prepare, and perform an in-water presentation on skills assigned from the Classified Diving program
Achieve a minimum passing score as defined by the In-Water Teaching Evaluation form
Complete the Candidate Water Fitness Evaluation as outlined in the SSI Training Standards.
Complete the Rescue Skills Workshop as outlined in the instructor manual for the Classified Diving program.
Complete the Classified Dive Professional exam with a passing score of at least 90%
After completion of all requirements, you will earn the SSI Classified Diving Instructor rating. In addition to the programs taught by active status Open Water Instructors, active status SSI Classified Diving Instructors may also conduct the Classified Diving and Classified Dive Buddy programs.

Minimum age: 18 years old
Open water instructor (minimum)
Be in active teaching status
Current First Aid and CPR training within two (2) years
Be Medically fit and healthy to dive
Have a minimum student count of 20 (open water level)
