Horizon SCR Extended Range Program
Extend your Horizon and diving capabilities with Aotearoa Dive.
The Horizon SCR Extended Range program provides divers with the training necessary to independently plan and conduct limited decompression dives, using nitrox to a maximum depth of 40 meters and specialised diving equipment and procedures, for a maximum accumulated accelerated decompression time of 25 minutes, with an equally or more qualified dive buddy.
Course Overview
The Horizon SSI SCR Extended Range program introduces you to diving beyond the no-decompression limit. During your training you will learn the concepts of self-sufficiency and redundancy that are essential when conducting an XR rebreather dive. You will also learn how to independently plan and conduct decompression dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters using the Mares Horizon SCR extended range rebreather.
Aotearoa Dive's Horizon SCR extended range training program is the perfect way to increase your diving capabilities.
Through a combination of online study and classroom academic sessions you will learn all the theory required to safely conduct decompression dives and how to prepare/set up/maintain the Horizon SCR extended range total diving system. With your Horizon SCR extended range Instructor you will then learn how to dive the unit and master a series of skills in a pool/confined water environment.
To complete your training you will then get to plan and execute dives in an open water environment to a maximum depth of 40 meters with a maximum accumulated accelerated decompression time of 25 minutes.

Prerequisites
- Deep Diver certification or equivalent
- Enriched Air Nitrox (40%) or equivalent
